Notes on the Take Profit Trader · Trading Test 50K rules

  • In US dollars, on the USD 50,000 account: a USD 3,000 profit target and a USD 2,000 maximum loss.
  • The maximum-loss floor moves only at the day's close, but a breach counts at any moment, open losses included (takeprofittraderhelp.zendesk.com page); daily closes cannot see it, so the figures are optimistic here.
  • The Test rules (Rules 1 to 6) list no daily loss limit.
  • Best-day rule: no day may exceed 50 % of the total profit; checked against the profit target when a path reaches it, on daily closes, which is stricter.
  • Breaking the consistency rule raises the profit target instead of ending the Test (takeprofittraderhelp.zendesk.com page).
  • No time limit while the monthly subscription is active (takeprofittraderhelp.zendesk.com page).
  • Intraday only: no position may be held overnight; every position is closed by 4:55 PM ET (takeprofittraderhelp.zendesk.com page).
  • Trading bots, algorithms and automated execution are prohibited, Test accounts included (takeprofittraderhelp.zendesk.com page).
  • At most 6 minis or 60 micros at a time.

Frequently asked questions

What target and limits does the Take Profit Trader Trading Test 50K have?

According to the Take Profit Trader help center read on 2026-10-10: a 6 % target; daily loss limit not simulated; a maximum total loss of 4 % trailing the highest daily close up to the initial balance; at least 3 trading days; no time limit; a best day of at most 50 % of the target. On the USD 50,000 account that is a USD 3,000 target and a USD 2,000 maximum loss.

How does the Take Profit Trader end-of-day trailing drawdown work?

According to the drawdown rule read on 2026-10-10, the minimum balance follows the highest end-of-day balance up and stops once it reaches the starting balance. The account is closed if the balance touches it at any moment, open losses included; the calculator only checks daily closes, so it is optimistic against that rule.

How does the calculator treat the Take Profit Trader consistency rule?

According to the help center read on 2026-10-10, the best day must stay below 50 % of the total net profit and the Test asks for at least 3 trading days; a best day above it raises the target instead of ending the Test. The calculator compares the best day with the profit target when a path reaches it, the stricter reading, and shows it as within the best-day rule.

Can I trade a bot or hold positions overnight at Take Profit Trader?

According to the policies read on 2026-10-10, no: bots, algorithms and automated execution are prohibited on Test accounts too, and no position may be held into the next trading day (every position is closed by 4:55 PM ET). The calculator gives figures for your declared numbers, but an automated or overnight strategy cannot be traded there as it is.

What it computes and assumes

  • Each synthetic day has your trades per day; across them, the share that wins your average win is your win rate and the rest lose your average loss. With decimals, some days have one more trade than others so the average is yours.
  • The report's simulator resamples those days and checks every daily close: first the daily limit, then the total one and last the target with the minimum days. Every day with trades counts as a trading day, even when it nets zero.
  • Every win and loss has the average size: no tails, slippage, costs or intraday floating loss. Real losses vary, so with a real history the limits are usually hit more often.
  • Trades are independent: no streaks longer than chance.
  • The rules are those each firm posted on the date shown; they may have changed.
  • We keep your figures in no database or file; since they travel in the link, the server's access log may hold the address requested. It is a calculation with declared figures, not an audit or a forecast.

With your real history

With your real history, the simulator uses your actual days, the floating loss at each daily close and the costs: upload your file. The report resamples your own days with the firm's rules, compares the published firms and tries the sizes.
