The file you get
The file the Trades tab exports (completed round-trip trades: symbol, size, time, entry and exit price, P&L and fees) or the Orders tab (open, filled, cancelled or rejected orders). Topstep's help centre calls the file the Orders module exports a CSV and does not publish the file's headers; the columns are recognised by their names.
Steps
- Open TopstepX (topstepx.com/trade or from your Topstep Dashboard) and select your account in the top-left selector.
- Click the Trades (or Orders) tab at the bottom of the page.
- Click Export (the help centre places it on the bottom right of the Orders module).
- Select your date range and click Export.
- Wait for the confirmation at the bottom-left of your screen and upload the downloaded file as it is: the help centre says you can open it in Excel or Google Sheets and, describing the Orders export, calls it a CSV.

Where to upload it
In the field 'Your platform report', as it is.
Limit: up to 10 MB per file. If your file is over the limit, shorten the period.
Before you upload
- Rigor is not affiliated with Topstep or TopstepX. The steps come from Topstep's help centre, read in October 2026; if the platform changes, go by what you see on screen.
- For the report export Trades, not Orders: each Trades row is a closed trade with its entry and its exit; Orders lists orders, cancelled and rejected ones included.
- The help centre does not publish the file's headers: Rigor recognises the columns by their names (symbol, size, entry and exit price, P&L, fees and, when the file has them, the entry and the exit time). If your file has a single time column, the report refuses it: without the entry time it cannot measure how long each trade lasted, and naming columns on the form does not fix that; it only helps when a column is not recognised by its name.
- Nor does the help centre say which time zone the file's times are in (Topstep's trading day runs from 5:00 PM to 3:10 PM Central Time). Times with a written offset (+02:00) are converted; the rest are read as they are.
- The export is documented for the platform without distinguishing Practice, Trading Combine or Express Funded accounts; the Performance Dashboard (desktop only) has no export of its own.
- On the form, under 'Add more files', you choose Topstep's Trading Combine or another challenge to simulate with its published rules.
- This file does not say how much capital you started with: type it in 'Starting balance'. Without it the audit assumes 10,000 and says so in the report.
- The file only holds closed trades: the floating drawdown inside each trade is reported as Not measured.
What the report does with this file
- It recognises the columns by their names and the report shows which one was read as what, for example 'Column read as result'.
- In 'Trading costs' it recomputes the result at 0, 1, 2 and 3 times a reference cost per side and works out the cost per side at which the net result reaches zero.
- It works out your win rate, net of the fees the file itemises, the average win and loss and the profit factor of your closed trades.
- It compares your longest losing streak with the one chance would give at the same share of losing trades (from 20 closed trades).
